About Victoria Harris Jewellery
Inspiration & Influences
I am a jeweller/goldsmith currently working in the beautiful seaside town of Rustington here on the south coast. I have been in the trade since 2007, after having graduated from the Plymouth College of Art & Design.
Since then I have been lucky enough to have worked in some fantastic jewellery shops with some amazing master crafts men & woman. Some of these are on the beautiful Isle of Wight, giving special homage to Chris Morphy & Jodie Dibbens at the lovely Theodosia & Guy Morey at G&M jewellery in Ryde. From the Isle of Wight I moved to Winchester where I was taken under the wing of 2 incredible goldsmiths- Marie Rice & Karen Salter at the fabulous (and former) James Jewellers in Parchment street. It is now Aura jewellers. This all female team here were such an inspiration in my life and I learnt an amazing amount of technical skill as well as life long lessons! They have all encouraged me to take my goldsmithing to the next level and start teaching some classes.
Inspiration & Influences
Love of being by the seaside!
Having spent the majority of my life living by the seaside it is not surprising that I find most of my inspiration derives from it. The beaches on the Isle of Wight, where I grew up are just stunning! From vast stretches of golden yellow sand to the glistening unspoilt lapping sea, it fills you with happiness and a feeling of calm when you are walking along it. Now I live in Fabulous Rustington, so I am equally as lucky to have the coast on our doorstep!
